Do you already know how to print your thesis for a flawless presentation?

The course is coming to an end and it's time to print your papers and theses. By now, you know that the content is just as important as the presentation you give it. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and a good print and finish can enhance the perception of your work and influence the final grade. Leave the printing of your papers and theses to Gràfic Centre and we guarantee success.

The importance of a good presentation

A well-presented thesis reflects professionalism and dedication. It's important to pay attention to the details so that the content looks as it should. Good binding, quality paper, high-quality printing... These are all factors that will have a significant impact on the evaluation of your paper or thesis. The standard size for theses is A4, but we can print in any size: A5, B5, A3...

Select quality materials to print your thesis

There are many details that make a difference. The type of paper is one of them. Not all papers are the same. At Gràfic Centre we print theses on high-quality 80g white paper (Navigator brand) to avoid unsightly creases or unnecessary wrinkles.

If your thesis includes images or color graphics, it's also important to use good paper to print with the highest quality. You can opt for thicker papers (120g), but they can be too heavy when turning pages and will certainly increase the printing cost of the thesis.

Even so, we can print the interior pages on paper up to 300g and bind with PUR glue. It is also important to keep in mind that the higher the number of color pages, the higher the final price will be.

Cover design

The cover of the thesis is the business card of your work. Usually, educational institutions detail how they should be structured and what elements should appear. At Gràfic Centre we adapt to all formats (sizes, colors, etc.) and can incorporate the logo of any university or school.

One of the most common questions is how to format the spine. Don't worry. Prepare the file to an approximate size and our team of designers will adapt it to the spine thickness to make it look perfect.

The binding of the thesis

The binding of a thesis is undoubtedly what makes the difference. The most common binding is book-style binding with a square spine. But you can choose between softcover (or paperback) or hardcover options.

This choice will depend on what your institution requires and how much money you want to spend. Softcover binding is cheaper than hardcover binding. If you want a basic and very cheap binding, you always have the option of binding your work with wire-o metal rings.

Details that make a difference

To print your thesis, we need a PDF file with the covers and a PDF with all the pages unformatted (all pages in print size one after another).

It is important to format the files with sufficient margins so that no information is cut off (leave at least 2cm on each side as a minimum). Use simple-to-read fonts (Arial, Times, Calibri, etc.) and a size suitable for all types of views (11 points is a good and standard size).

Finally, at Gràfic Centre you can choose between a matte or glossy finish for your thesis covers. It's simply a matter of preference, but here are some tips to help you decide: matte lamination scratches faster but looks more elegant; glossy lamination is more durable but generates reflections.

You can also add cover flaps, bookmarks, or sewn pages if needed.

Review and print proofs

A thesis is usually written and presented only once in a lifetime (generally speaking). Make sure everything is perfect. Pagination errors are one of the most common mistakes in thesis printing.

Before printing the final work, we recommend that you do a proof print. It is easier to see errors or defects on a printed sheet than on a computer screen. At Gràfic Centre we offer you the possibility of printing 1 black and white copy of the thesis for free so that you can make the necessary revisions.

Theses are often printed in more than one copy. Keep in mind that the more books you print, the lower the individual price will be.
